What this blog is about

For my dissertation what I would like to do is research nostalgic culture and the recycling of visual culture. This blog into documentation of my research for my topic, my key aims are:

1) Discover why people like nostalgia. I want to understand the appeal of the nostalgia, especially why it is so prominent today. 

2) Compare the culture of nostalgia to that of popular consumer culture and new media.

3) What is it about nostalgia that some people prefer it to popular new media and consumer products.

4) I also want to look at why we recycle our visual culture. What is it about some things that we like to re-use them.

5) Look at various counter arguments for our love for nostalgic and the recycling of visual culture.
